The Respiratory Infection Center helps treat diseases that were infected through one’s respiratory system and diseases that occurred in one of the major organs that collaborate with the respiratory system such as bronchus, pneumothorax, pulmonary vessel and pleura. Common symptoms of such diseases include sputum, cough, chest pain, dyspnea and hemoptysis. Diagnosis methods include pulmonary function testing, bronchoscopy, asthma/allergy test and etc. The center is consistent in its research to offer its patients with the most accurate diagnosis and effective treatment solutions.

  • Main testing conducted by the pulmonology division

    The pulmonology division is under the Internal Medicine Department that studies and treats diseases occurring in one’s respiratory system. The division treats major respiratory diseases such as lung cancer, malignant tumor occurring in the respiratory system, infectious diseases such as pneumonia and tuberculosis, chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases such as emphysema and chronic bronchitis, interstitial lung disease including pulmonary fibrosis, pulmonary thromboembolism, pneumothorax and pleural effusion.
  • Division of infectious diseases

    The division of infectious diseases tackles a variety of infectious diseases that could cause issues in any part of one’s body. This department covers a wide field of study that is closely related to diseases requiring antibiotic treatment. The department is in charge of treatment and prevention of respiratory infections, digestive infection, urinary tract infection, central nervous system infection, endocarditis, musculoskeletal infection, skin and soft tissue infection as well as infectious diseases among immunodeficiency patients and immunosuppressive patients due to chemotherapy.
